About our Logo
The tree represents you. The different color of leaves represents no matter what season in life you're in, you're thriving, flourishing, and achieving great things. The leaves on the ground (words) represent Self-awareness, which is easy to see and easy not to see. In essence, we want to focus and highlight the good qualities and raise those qualities up in us so that our tree produces the best quality fruit in us. So, we become the tree of life.
Meet the Owner
Tim Carson Jr. is a transformative coach, sports professional, and community leader dedicated to helping individuals unlock their potential both on and off the field. A 2007 graduate of Coastal Carolina University with a degree in Sports and Recreational Management, Tim was not only a committed football player during his college years but also someone who learned to see with his eyes and not with his eyes—a perspective that has shaped his approach to guiding others toward growth and self-discovery. He resides in Raleigh, NC.
Tim’s professional journey began at Knightdale Parks and Recreation, where from 2008 to 2014, he played a pivotal role in developing youth sports programs that emphasized discipline, teamwork, and integrity. His leadership impacted countless young athletes, teaching them that striving for perfection is different than being perfect.
As a coach, Tim brought these lessons to life. Starting in high school and later transitioning to middle school football coaching, he became known for his ability to instill not only athletic skills but also critical life skills. His experience as a football official further broadened his understanding of the game and allowed him to view challenges from multiple perspectives—an invaluable asset in both coaching and life coaching.
Beyond athletics, Tim has made a significant impact in the education sector. As a Teacher Assistant and Behavior Support Specialist, he worked closely with students, including those in autism-specific classrooms, helping them navigate challenges and build confidence in their abilities.
Today, as a coach, Tim combines his rich background in sports, education, and leadership to inspire clients to embrace their unique journeys. He believes that perfection isn’t about being flawless—it’s about growth, progress, and learning to see beyond limitations. His mission is to create positive, transformative environments that encourage personal and professional development for individuals of all ages.
Message to my Daughter,
I want you to know that you are one of the most beautiful people in the world. You are a queen-to-be, and you know that you come from royalty. You are smart, wise, nurturing, and creative, just to name a few qualities about you. Control your mind, and don’t let anyone control it for you.
I look forward to watching you grow from a princess into a Queen. I want you to know that you are
self-ishly made.
Message to my
Sons,
First of all, I want you to know that I love you. It may not always be expressed in words, but it will always be expressed in my actions. You are smart, strong, determined, loving, and caring, just to name a few attributes that will make you a great King. You will be told and shown a lot in a negative light, but I want you to be strong and know just how powerful you are. Control your own mind and don’t let anybody control it for you.
Rise, young King, and know that you are selfishly made.
Join us at Self-ish Academy—because it's okay to be a little self-ish about your growth and happiness!
